‘This is a massacre of thoughts’: the exiled Chinese artist Ai Weiwei on his cancellation
In western society, there is a palpable sense of fear now where individuals feel restrained from expressing their true thoughts, fearing potential consequences.
The Chinese artist Ai Weiwei has had a series of upcoming exhibitions in New York, Paris and Berlin cancelled — not by the Chinese Communist Party, but by the ‘free’ west.
As Iain William reports for The Spectator, Weiwei had posted on X (formerly Twitter) his thoughts about the Israel-Hamas war. However, his comments appeared to more generally attack Jewish influence and power.
He wrote: “The sense of guilt around the persecution of the Jewish people has been, at times, transferred to offset the Arab world. Financially, culturally, and in terms of media influence, the Jewish community has had a significant presence in the United States. The annual $3 billion aid package to Israel has, for decades, been touted as one of the most valuable investments the United States has ever made. This partnership is often described as one of shared destiny.”
Soon after Ai’s comment was posted, the Lisson Gallery released a statement: “There is no place for debate that can be characterised as anti-Semitic or Islamophobic at a time when all efforts should be on ending the tragic suffering in Israeli and Palestinian territories, as well as in communities internationally.” Other cancellations quickly followed.
“In western society, there is a palpable sense of fear now where individuals feel restrained from expressing their true thoughts, fearing potential consequences. I perceive this not only as an assault on free speech but as a massacre of thoughts. Those who suffer are individuals with independent thinking, and those who prevail are forces pushing human civilisation backwards,” says Ai Weiwei – and I totally agree.
An extremely dangerous path
As an author, journalist and artist myself I find this path extremely dangerous. Our freedom is curtailed with every breath we take. In the end, there will only be dark shadows left of humanity, that is – if we don’t stop this now! In that matter I am happy to observe that something is happening all over at this moment.
You can feel the air vibrate. You can see it in SOME – the anger, the violence, the frustrations, the fear, the craziness and the turbulence that our government that are bought and paid for, are creating. And you can feel that the people are resisting – and it is increasing.
In any deliberate change of governance, fear and chaos are created before the solution is presented. The aim of all the fear-mongering we have witnessed in the last three years is to create an unelected elitist global leadership (WEF/WHO/EU) where people are reduced to silent slaves who nod and bow to every insect they get for dinner in their 15 minutes cities.
This while the elite is toasting champagne while flying their private jets. The world is their oysters and their own private playground, while our kids are monitored 24/7 and ID branded as if they were cattle, living imprisoned, eating bugs and drugs, and playing wargames all day.
You will own nothing and be happy. Today’s censorship of free independent thinking people is a tool with this as its goal.
But people are not fools – they had enough of dictatorship and tyranny, and woke-madness!
In Spain, millions of Spaniards have been demonstrating every single day of November in protest against the left-wing madness that is robbing the citizens of their rights and destroying the country with open borders. The sad fact is that throughout Europe, Canada and the USA, the doors are now intentionally being opened to mobs – the goal is to create further chaos, fear and crime.
You will not read any of this in MSM, cause MSM are owned by the same elite that is trying to take world domination. Follow the money.
Censorship is a tool – we need to speak up – we cannot let them win. This is all about our children’s lives, their health and future either in freedom or as silent slaves in an inhumane society dictated by a tiny elite.
This type of attempt to stifle democracies, human rights and freedom of expression must be dealt with severely. The only solution is to speak up directly to in this example, the Lisson Gallery that is censoring this and probably other artists as well, just for not fitting into the narrative.
Censorship kills democracies and destroys freedom of speech and human rights
I want to protect mine and my children’s given rights in any democracy which also includes freedom of speech. When Lisson Gallery censors FREE ART and artists as is the case with Ai Weiwei, I see no other way out than to boycott Lissom Gallery.
Censorship kills democracies, destroys freedom of speech and human rights – something you with this type of bizarre and unethical practice unfortunately take part in.
You may also add a link to this post if you wish.
In addition, we must pass on issues about censorship like this in SOME, so people understand what is going on in this crazy Woke Age, and not least – we must respond with the same tool – boycott any company that practices censorship and discrimination against people who use their human rights in democratic countries – and let them know about it. So please share this post.
Remember that the next person to be censored, banned and discriminated against – could be you. And then the whole next generation is censored and gagged, and live imprisoned and in fear – and that is your children! So speak up now – protect your freedom of speech!
