Humor, self-irony and romantic entanglements are the main ingredients. The heroine is still ambitious, sex-fixated and on the eternal search for the great love. But New York has been replaced by Oslo, Henne

It is not a shy and blushing young girl novel Hole has written. It spins around the main character’s unrestrained sex fantasies, and reproduces text messages of the sickest kind, NTB

Books to desire. Trude Helén Hole is the woman behind the first Norwegian book in the chicklit genre. The genre was predicted a short future by the critics, but they were wrong. The light and entertaining stories still top the bestseller lists, M.A.G

The humorous diary-like girls’ literature has not disappeared. Now Bridget Jones gets a new Norwegian sister – rough Lotte-Marie, Tønsbergs Blad

– Fresh to the point language and a lot of funny dialogues and scenes. Hole has probably invented her own genre with these books, Jan Ove Ekeberg, author

THE AUTHOR TRUDE HELÉN HOLE is known for her popular, exciting and humorous books about the unconventional Lotte-Marie, Norway’s feminine answer to Harry Hole by Jo Nesbø and Varg Veum by Gunnar Staalelsen. But she is also a business owner with her own media agency and publishing house, a journalist, sommelier and speaker, model, blogger – and award-winning artist!

She has recently been awarded the International Art Prize Paris 2022 and has been invited to exhibit a sculpture and a painting during the New York Exhibition 2022. In addition, she is one of three Norwegian artists who have been invited to exhibit during The International ArtQuake Exhibition in Turkey in September with her painting Mistress XXX.

Trude Helén Hole is also a trained sommelier and has been involved in wine imports for 6 years before she produced Norway’s first TV series about wine as well as Norway’s first digital wine course which you can watch anytime and anywhere – several times.

– LOL! Wonderfully liberating and brilliant literature with intelligent humor – the stories get me in a good mood, but also inspire reflection. The book offers both high entertainment and ethical values, and is only getting better and better. The author appears to be advanced and completely unique on this planet! Her beautiful fresh style surpasses all othersGrunde Avharstveit

Lotte-Marie, the funniest books ever written in Norway?
20,000 pre-sold books!

Norwegian record for a debutant. The Truth About Lotte-Marie, Uncensored is Trude Helén Hole’s debut novel and the first about the rather unconventional Lotte-Marie. The novel was published by N.W. Damm & Søn Forlag in 2006 and sold over 6,000 in the first edition which at the time was a Norwegian record. According to media and readers, the books about Lotte-Marie from the north coast in Norway, are simply the best within the humor genre, and are often referred to as Norway’s feministic, refreshing and humorous answers to our gloomy, tired and semi-alcoholic crime heroes such as Harry Hole and Varg Veum written by Jo Nesbø and Gunnar Staalelsen.

– A hysterically funny book, I laughed so hard I started crying. Miles from Goethe whom I also like, Lasse Østervold

These are UNISEX books. The unconventional books about Lotte-Marie are totally limitless when it comes to language, means and the use of humor and satire, although with an underlying message for the attentive reader. Readers of both gender are fascinated by the character’s complexity, her courage and her consistent strength, but even the strongest can sometimes become fragile and insecure. This changing shift in a human being and what possibly causes it, is what makes a person and a story interesting. The books are also about setting and breaking boundaries, about vulnerability and courage – all told with a lot of revealing humor and self-irony. Hole writes about love, fantasies and feelings – and about sex, desires and passion in a tone that captures both gender. The author has an easy-going style and also writes unfiltered about self-development and reflection, although with a twisted pen.

– The Story is well-written and funny. Laughed all the way! Åge Grønning

Norways best female author, Dagsavisen

Hole’s books have often made me burst into tears in laughter. Her empathy and use of her own experiences gives an insight into a person that you have rarely or never seen before. The books are characterized by sensuality, love and devilry well put together by Norway’s best female author. If you like crime, excitement and a good laugh, then this is for you. Dice 6! Rune Tollefsen

About her historical novel Kjærlighet og Klasseskille; Trude Helén Hole is a great storyteller in this genre as well. The story is told in a simple and straightforward way, with many good historical displays. It’s very interesting to follow the people in the book, Ivar Eide

Good entertainment and humor are universal. But the books about Lotte-Marie are not only considered sexy and funny – they also promote important questions regarding societal development and human behavior which makes these books highly socially relevant. Hole also write articles about sex, cohabitation and self-development, and her articles about “Leadership through inner motivation” are widely used in management and academic literature, as well in her own books.

Trude Helén Hole masters the art of balancing strength and vulnerability, humor and seriousness. Her pen is fast, steady and easygoing. Her texts are unique both in form and content – and Hole has according to what is said about her – almost created her own literary genre with her books about Lotte-Marie. Readers of both gender are fascinated by the character’s complexity, her courage and her consistent strength, but even the strongest can sometimes become fragile and insecure. This changing shift in a human being and what possibly causes it, is what makes a person and a story interesting.

Today I did something as rare as read a book with a cover, by Trude Helén Hole. The book captivated from about 50 shades and from then on I just had to read the rest. Hole is skilled; damn funny and spot on. Not to mention the eroticism she conveys. Highly recommended! Gro Storteig

Trude Helén Hole’s latest project “Lotte-Marie and the Match Killer” is successful Big time! Hole never bores at all. She uses many (all?) means to keep us engaged. Here is suspense, humor, craziness, political judgments, thematic information – serial killers: I loved it! And sex! Hole takes it all the way out! And glory to people who dare to offer themselves to their readers! What we want more of in the next book about Lotte-Marie: more of everything! Øyvind Fygd

Trude Helén Hole’s pen is fast, steady and dynamic, and the texts are unique in both form and content. According to what is said, Hole has created her own genre with her books about Lotte-Marie, which are read by both women and men with a good sense of humor – and can easily be read individually.

ABOUT THE CHARACTER

Lotte-Marie is a divided person. Lotte is wild, ruthless, rude and uninhibited, while Marie is the pretentious and correct businesswoman, the one who works in the wine industry and is the superseller with the splendid nose. Her two conflicting characters tears her apart, and the art is to balance these two egoes, something Lotte-Marie is not very good at. Norway’s funniest books are about being a human being, but first and foremost a woman in a male dominated world – a woman who tends to end up in the most bizarre situations where small margins separate life and death.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Trude Helén Hole is a Norwegian Author, blogger and journalist that had her first article in the newspaper at the age of thirteen. It was about her desire for a better nature management in Norway. She has been writing articles for several magazines and newspapers, and also write about restaurants, wine, film and books, as well as politics, business and selfdevelopment on her blog.

But books are her true passion, next to art and wine. As a little girl she read tons of books and took an early decision to become an author herself. But even though her first novel was completed in 1994 – 12 years disappeared while she studied history and psychology, and travelled all over the world including some years in Australia where she worked on a horse ranch and a cattle farm. Back in Norway she become the general manager of a wine-company for six years before her first novel came out in 2006. The Truth about Lotte-Marie sold 6,000 which became a Norwegian record for a debutant.

– I simply couldn’t stop reading The Story – what an entertaining and lively book. This was a strong text, liberatingly honest and lots of delightful humor. Hole is really skilled, tough, raw, funny, fearless and not least real, Kjersti Meidell

So far, Hole has written 13 books, both novels, schoolbooks and documentaries – among them 4 books about the pretty rough and sensitive figure Lotte-Marie which is referred to by the media and readers as the most unique and funniest books in Norway. The books are UNISEX and very popular also among men. Humor, irony, intelligence, romance, sex and excitement, and sometimes mysteries, crime and murder – are good reading material for both men and women of all ages.

– I own four of Hole’s books. I really gotten a taste for her way of writing. My favorite so far is The Story! Øyvind Janbu Berg
