Lotte-Marie will soon go abroad ;-)

To all my Norwegian readers and to all my new readers abroad. Here is a small introduction of the charming novel figure Lotte-Marie, who is now aiming for the sky, and a few words about me as the author of these funny, groundbreaking and innovative books. Yep! So they say! 🙂

My name is Trude Helén Hole – I am an Norwegian journalist, a sommelier and coach, and according to the media a very cool “Norwegian influencer” which is of course, absolutely wonderful! But really – I don’t notice anything about it myself, because I am primarily an introvert writer who likes to do my own things. Digging up small trees, flowers and shrubs from my neighbors gardens to give them a new and wonderful home in my own garden, is one of my favorite pursuits.

Having said that, I am also according the media and readers – Norway’s funniest author!

I was previously with a big publisher in Norway – but last year I established the publishing house Feather Books Publishing and I already got five, talented writers in my stable. However – the books about Lotte-Marie are being published as audiobooks by Storytel, and Bladcentralen have bought the whole serie and all the future books.

So far, I have written 13 books, both novels, schoolbooks and documentaries – among them 3 books about the charming novel figure Lotte-Marie, which is referred to by the media and readers as Norway’s coolest and funniest books.

The first book about Lotte-Marie was published in 2006, and sold over 6.000 books. At that time, this was a record for a debut novel in Norway. Book number four in the serie, Lotte-Marie Goes Down Under is soon finished, and the events in this one takes place in Australia. Book number two, Lotte-Marie Goes to Hollywood, is – yeah, you got it right! 😉

The books about Lotte-Marie can be read individually and are considered as Norway’s humorous, sexy and feminin answer to Jo Nesbø´s Harry Hole and Gunnar Staalesens Varg Veum.

The books about Lotte-Marie are quite funny, but also have an important message. Good entertainment and humor are universal. But the books about Lotte-Marie are not only considered as Norway’s funniest by the press and readers – they are also important and socially relevant.

Lotte-Marie is a tough, funny and brave woman who is struggling with what we all struggle with – pressure from all sides to being the perfect woman.

The books deal with the beauty industry, sex and sex pressure and expectations, career and equality – all the things that a woman has to deal with through a lifetime. Especially the beauty hysteria and sexuality are red threads in the books – and of course humor and irony. 🙂

The books are both groundbreaking and innovative. Lotte-Marie and the Match Murderer is a parody of the Crimea, where the heroine herself, meets well known Barry Hole and Varg Lærum. Book number four becomes equivalent – ie a parody of the Crimea with a lot of humor and charm, and unexpected turns.

The aim of the books about Lotte-Marie is thus to spread joy and humor, but also to motivate women to relax a little on all the demands, dare to give a little more “fuck it about things”, and to put themselves first and follow their desires more – instead of following frames and rules and give in to outside pressure.

The reason why the books about Lotte-Marie are popular also among men – is of course that Lotte-Marie is Norway’s humorous and sexy answer to Harry Hole and Varg Veum. I think men fall in love with the complexity of the Lotte-figure, and of course they learn something about women. Yep – that´s right! 🙂
